Power Relays for Higher-Current Switching Applications

Power relays are used where a control circuit needs to switch a higher electrical load than a typical small signal or interface relay can handle. They are commonly found in industrial control panels, machinery, heating equipment, lighting systems, pumps and other electrical equipment.

Requirements vary considerably. One buyer may need a compact plug-in power relay for an existing machine, while another may be looking for a 15 A or 30 A relay for a new control panel.

ARP IMPEX supplies power relays for OEM equipment, panel building, plant maintenance and replacement requirements. If you already have the part number, send us the complete model, coil voltage, quantity and delivery country for quotation.

We also work on requirements for buyers looking for a power relay supplier in India, industrial power relay exporter, high-current plug-in relay, or a replacement Schneider Electric, ABB or Siemens relay.

When a Standard Control Relay Is Not Enough

A power relay is often selected when the load being switched requires a higher contact rating than a standard control or interface relay can comfortably handle.

Typical requirements come from:

  • Industrial control panels
  • Heating equipment
  • Pumps and small motors where the relay is suitably rated
  • Lighting circuits
  • HVAC equipment
  • Packaging machinery
  • Machine tools
  • Process equipment
  • Automation panels
  • Electrical test equipment
  • OEM machinery
  • Replacement of existing high-current relays

The type of load also matters. A relay used for a heater may have a different switching rating when used with a motor or another inductive load.

For this reason, if you do not have an exact part number, tell us what the relay is switching along with the operating voltage and current.

Schneider Electric Harmony Power Relays

Schneider Electric offers dedicated power relays within its Harmony electromechanical relay range.

The Harmony RPM range includes plug-in power relays rated up to 15 A, with different contact arrangements and coil voltages. Schneider also offers the Harmony RPF family for higher-current switching, with models rated up to 30 A depending on the contact arrangement and application.

These relays are relevant for industrial panels, machinery and hard-wired control systems where a higher switching capacity is required without moving to a larger contactor.

We supply Schneider Electric RPM and RPF power relays for new equipment and replacement requirements. Buyers looking for a Schneider power relay supplier in India, Harmony RPM relay, Harmony RPF 30A relay, or an existing RPF replacement can send the complete Schneider reference for quotation.

ABB High-Current Plug-in Relays

ABB’s CR-P range includes pluggable relays suitable for higher-current switching in industrial control panels and machinery. Selected CR-P models are available with a single changeover contact rated up to 16 A, along with other contact arrangements and AC/DC coil options.

These relays are useful where a compact plug-in relay is required for switching larger control-circuit loads without moving to a full-size contactor.

For ABB CR-P requirements, send the complete ordering code, coil voltage, quantity and delivery destination so the correct model can be quoted.

Siemens Plug-in Relays for Higher-Current Switching

Siemens offers plug-in relays under its SIRIUS LZS/LZX range for control panels, machinery and industrial switching applications.

Selected models are available with higher contact ratings, including versions with two changeover contacts rated up to 16 A, used with matching Siemens sockets.

These relays are suitable for control-cabinet applications, machine circuits and replacement requirements where a compact plug-in relay with higher switching capacity is needed.

ARP IMPEX supplies Siemens LZS/LZX plug-in relays against exact article numbers. For quotation, send the complete Siemens reference, coil voltage, quantity and delivery destination.

Power Relay, Plug-in Relay or Contactor?

These products can look similar, but they are not always interchangeable.

A plug-in relay refers mainly to the mounting style, where the relay plugs into a matching socket. A power relay is generally used where a higher switching load is involved. A contactor is normally selected for heavier motor and power-switching duties.

For replacement requirements, details such as the brand, complete model number, coil voltage, contact arrangement and type of load are more useful than only specifying something like “24V 20A relay.”

If the existing relay is still installed, a clear nameplate photo can also help identify the correct product.

Replacing a Power Relay in Existing Machinery?

Many power relay enquiries come from machines and panels that have already been operating for several years.

When the relay fails, the easiest route is usually to work from the existing part number rather than try to select a new relay from the current rating alone.

A clear photograph of the relay can also help where the label is difficult to read. If the relay plugs into a socket, include a photo of the socket as well.

For older Schneider RPM/RPF, ABB CR-P, Siemens LZS/LZX or similar industrial relays, send us the existing model together with the coil voltage and quantity. Where the original model has changed, the available details can be used to check the current requirement.

Power Relays for Panel Builders, OEMs & Maintenance Buyers

We supply power relay requirements ranging from single replacement units to quantities for machinery manufacturers, control-panel builders and industrial maintenance.

For panel and OEM enquiries, buyers can send a BOM with the manufacturer references and quantities. For replacement work, the existing relay part number is normally enough to begin checking availability.

Common requirements include 24V DC and 230V AC power relays, higher-current plug-in relays, and models rated around 15A, 16A or 30A for industrial control and switching applications.

Providing these details helps us identify the correct relay and prepare a more accurate quotation.

Power Relay FAQs

Which power relay brands do you supply?

We handle Schneider Electric Harmony power relays together with model-specific ABB, Siemens and other industrial relay requirements. Product terminology varies between manufacturers, so some higher-current relays may be listed as plug-in or interface relays rather than specifically as power relays.

Can you supply Schneider Electric RPM power relays?

Yes. Schneider Harmony RPM includes plug-in power relays with several contact arrangements and coil-voltage options, with selected models rated up to 15 A.

Can you supply Schneider Harmony RPF power relays?

Yes. Harmony RPF is Schneider Electric’s higher-current power relay family, with models rated up to 30 A depending on the version.

Can you supply ABB high-current plug-in relays?

Yes. ABB CR-P includes pluggable relay versions with higher switching ratings, including 16 A single-changeover models.

Can you help replace an old power relay?

Yes. Send the existing model number, coil voltage and a clear photograph of the relay. If it is socket-mounted, a photo of the socket is useful as well.

What should I send if I do not know the part number?

Tell us the coil voltage, contact arrangement, load voltage/current and application, together with photographs of the existing relay where available.
