Industrial Contactor Relays for Control Panels, Interlocking & Automation Circuits

Panel builders, machine manufacturers and industrial maintenance teams use contactor relays for auxiliary switching, interlocking, signalling and control circuit requirements. ARP IMPEX supplies and exports contactor relays from brands such as ABB, Siemens and Schneider Electric for new panels, machinery, plant maintenance and replacement applications. Our range covers different NO/NC contact combinations, coil voltages, mounting arrangements and auxiliary configurations. For a quotation, buyers can share the required brand, complete model or part number, coil voltage, contact configuration, quantity and delivery destination.

Contactor Relays for Auxiliary & Control Circuits

Contactor relays are used where several auxiliary contacts are required for switching, interlocking, signalling and control logic inside an electrical panel. They work on the same electromagnetic operating principle as a contactor, but their contacts are intended mainly for control and auxiliary circuits rather than directly switching large motor loads.

They are commonly found in motor starter panels, MCCs, machine control systems, PLC panels and industrial automation equipment. A typical requirement may be as simple as a 24 VDC contactor relay with 3NO+1NC contacts, while another application may require additional auxiliary contacts, mechanically linked contacts or a particular AC coil voltage.

ARP IMPEX supplies contactor relays for new panels, machinery, maintenance and replacement requirements. If you already have the manufacturer part number, send the complete ordering code, coil voltage, contact arrangement, quantity and destination country for quotation.

Contactor Relay or Power Contactor – What Is the Difference?

The two products look similar, but they are generally selected for different duties.

A power contactor is normally chosen to switch motors, heaters and other higher-current loads. Its main contacts are rated for the relevant utilization category and load.

A contactor relay, sometimes called an auxiliary contactor or control relay depending on the manufacturer, is primarily used in the control circuit. Typical duties include electrical interlocking, multiplying auxiliary contacts, signalling, sequence control and switching control inputs.

This distinction matters when replacing an existing device. A contactor relay should not be selected simply because its physical size resembles a power contactor.

For replacement work, check the exact model, coil voltage and NO/NC contact arrangement before ordering.

Where Contactor Relays Are Used

Instead of being tied to one industry, contactor relays appear wherever several control contacts are required.

Common installations include:

  • Star-delta starter control circuits
  • Forward/reverse motor starter interlocking
  • MCC and PCC panels
  • PLC output circuits
  • Pump and compressor panels
  • Conveyor control systems
  • Machine tools
  • Process-control panels
  • HVAC control systems
  • Packaging and production machinery
  • Material handling systems
  • Industrial signalling circuits
  • Safety-related control circuits where the selected device is suitable
  • OEM control panels and machinery

In many panels, the contactor relay is doing a small but important job: one coil operation can provide several NO and NC contacts for different parts of the control sequence.

What to Send Us for a Contactor Relay Quote

For this product, the coil and contact arrangement matter as much as the manufacturer name.

The most useful details are:

  • Brand
  • Complete model or ordering code
  • Coil voltage
  • AC or DC coil
  • Frequency for AC coils where applicable
  • Number of NO contacts
  • Number of NC contacts
  • Required auxiliary contact blocks
  • Terminal type
  • Quantity
  • Delivery country

For an existing panel, a clear photograph of the front and side label is useful if the complete part number cannot be read.

A request such as “4-pole relay, 230 V coil” may still leave several possible versions. A request such as “Siemens 3RH2, 3NO+1NC, 230 VAC, screw terminal” is much easier to quote correctly.

Siemens SIRIUS 3RH2 Contactor Relays

Siemens SIRIUS 3RH2 is a dedicated contactor relay family for switching auxiliary circuits. Siemens offers 3RH2 versions with 4 or 8 poles, different NO/NC combinations and several connection and coil options. Siemens also has coupling contactor relay variants intended for use with electronic controls such as PLC outputs.

Typical Siemens requirements we receive may include:

  • 2NO + 2NC contactor relays
  • 3NO + 1NC versions
  • 4NO versions
  • AC or DC operating coils
  • Coupling contactor relays for PLC circuits
  • Replacement of older 3RH1 models with current 3RH2 series where applicable

Siemens’ current India catalogue also identifies older 3RH1 products as phased out in cases where 3RH2 is the preferred successor family.

If you are looking for a Siemens 3RH2 contactor relay supplier and exporter in India, send the complete 3RH ordering code rather than only the contact arrangement.

ABB NF Contactor Relays

ABB’s NF series is specifically designed for switching auxiliary and control circuits. The range includes 4-pole and 8-pole configurations, and ABB uses its electronically controlled AF coil technology in the NF family. Depending on the version, features include mechanically linked contacts, built-in surge suppression and different terminal arrangements.

ABB NF contactor relays are used in control panels, machinery and automation systems where dependable auxiliary switching and multiple control contacts are needed.

ARP IMPEX handles requirements for ABB NF contactor relays, including model-specific replacement enquiries. For an ABB quotation, send the complete NF model, coil/control voltage, contact configuration and quantity.

Schneider Electric Control & Auxiliary Contactor Relays

Schneider Electric offers control relays in its TeSys portfolio. Its TeSys D, K and SK ranges include miniature and full-size control relays for control circuits, while Easy TeSys also offers dedicated control relay versions with combinations such as 2NO+2NC, 3NO+1NC and 4NO.

Schneider products may be described as control relays or auxiliary contactors rather than always using the exact term “contactor relay.” The application, however, is closely related: auxiliary switching, control logic and interlocking inside electrical panels.

We can check Schneider Electric requirements against the full CA, CAD, CA2K or other relevant reference number. For replacement enquiries, send the existing Schneider reference and coil voltage so that the exact series can be identified.

Replacing an Existing Contactor Relay

Older contactor relays often remain installed for many years because they form part of the original panel control logic.

When one fails, changing only the coil voltage is not enough. The replacement also needs the correct NO/NC contact arrangement, terminal configuration and any auxiliary contact requirements.

If the existing model is discontinued, send us:

manufacturer + complete part number + coil voltage + contact arrangement + photos + quantity + destination

For Siemens 3RH1, older ABB contactor relays or Schneider control relays, the existing reference gives us a much better starting point than selecting a new unit only by appearance.

Contactor Relay FAQs

Which contactor relay brands do you supply?

We handle requirements for Siemens SIRIUS 3RH2, ABB NF and Schneider Electric control/auxiliary relay ranges, along with other model-specific industrial relay requirements.

What information is most important when ordering a contactor relay?

The complete part number is best. If it is unavailable, provide the coil voltage, AC/DC supply, number of NO and NC contacts, quantity and manufacturer.

Can you supply Siemens 3RH2 contactor relays?

Yes. Siemens currently offers the SIRIUS 3RH2 family specifically for auxiliary-circuit switching, with different contact arrangements and coil versions.

Are contactor relays and power contactors the same?

No. A power contactor is normally used for switching higher-current loads such as motors. A contactor relay is primarily intended for control and auxiliary circuits.

Can you help replace an old Siemens 3RH1 contactor relay?

Yes. Send the complete 3RH1 article number and coil voltage. Siemens identifies 3RH2 as the successor family for a number of older 3RH1 products, but the exact replacement should be checked against the original model.

Do you supply single pieces?

Single replacement requirements as well as larger maintenance, OEM and project quantities can be handled depending on the exact model and availability.
