Schneider Electric Easergy MiCOM P742 Numerical Busbar Protection Relay is a peripheral unit designed for use with the Easergy MiCOM P74x distributed busbar protection system. Working together with the MiCOM P741 Central Unit, it provides fast, secure and dependable busbar differential protection for substations across medium, high, extra-high and ultra-high voltage networks.

The MiCOM P742 collects current measurements from connected feeders and transfers the information to the central protection unit through high-speed redundant fibre optic communication. This distributed architecture improves system flexibility while maintaining fast fault detection and selective tripping during internal busbar faults.
