Schneider VAMP 300M Motor Protection and Control Relay is used for protecting and monitoring medium-voltage motors and their feeder cables. It covers the electrical and thermal conditions that can damage a motor during starting, normal operation or a fault.

The relay checks motor current, starting time, thermal condition, current unbalance and earth fault conditions. It can also detect problems such as stalled rotor, excessive starting time, undercurrent and repeated starts, depending on the functions enabled in the relay. This makes the VAMP 300M useful for motors operating pumps, compressors, fans, conveyors, crushers and other important plant equipment.

Optional RTD interface modules can bring motor winding and bearing temperature readings into the protection system. These temperature values can be viewed locally and transferred to the plant automation system, giving maintenance teams a clearer picture of the motor’s operating condition.

VAMP 300M also handles motor control, electrical measurements, alarms, event records and disturbance recording. Optional arc flash protection can be added for motor control centres and switchgear panels where fast clearing of an internal arc fault is required.
