Schneider VAMP 259 PowerLogic Distance Protection Relay
Schneider VAMP 259 PowerLogic Distance Protection Relay is a multifunction numerical relay designed for protecting overhead transmission lines, distribution feeders, and power cables in medium-voltage power systems. It combines distance protection, backup protection, control, metering, and communication functions in a single device, making it suitable for utility substations, industrial facilities, and critical power networks.
The relay supports complete distance protection with multiple protection zones and independent distance elements, allowing fast and selective fault clearance. In addition to distance protection, it provides overcurrent, voltage, frequency, and sensitive earth fault protection, helping improve the reliability and stability of the electrical network. Built-in auto-reclose and synchro-check functions further enhance system availability following temporary line faults.
VAMP 259 also includes native IEC 61850 communication, event recording, and programmable communication options for easy integration with SCADA and substation automation systems.
