The UA75..RA 3-pole contactors are specifically designed for capacitor switching applications, suitable for installations where peak currents exceed 100 times the nominal RMS current. These contactors are supplied with built-in damping resistors and must be used without additional inductances (refer to the table below). To ensure safe operation, capacitors must be discharged to a maximum residual voltage of ≤ 50V before re-energizing. The electrical durability of these contactors is 250,000 operating cycles for voltages below 500V and 100,000 cycles for voltages between 500V and 690V.
The UA..RA contactors feature a special front-mounted block that facilitates the serial insertion of three damping resistors, effectively limiting the current peak during capacitor bank energization. This design also ensures capacitor precharging, reducing the second current peak when the main poles engage. The resistors play a crucial role in dampening the highest current peaks during switching, regardless of their intensity.
These contactors have a block-type design with three main poles and an AC-operated control circuit equipped with a laminated magnet core. Additionally, a wide range of accessories is available to enhance their functionality and adaptability for various industrial applications.
