The UA63..RA 3-pole contactors are designed for capacitor switching applications, suitable for installations where peak currents significantly exceed 100 times the nominal RMS current. These contactors come equipped with built-in damping resistors and must be used without additional inductances (refer to the table below). To ensure safe operation, capacitors must be discharged to a maximum residual voltage of ≤ 50V before re-energizing. The electrical durability of these contactors is rated at 250,000 operating cycles for voltages below 500V and 100,000 cycles for voltages between 500V and 690V.
The UA..RA contactors feature a specially designed front-mounted block that enables the serial insertion of three damping resistors, effectively limiting the current peak during capacitor bank energization. This configuration also facilitates capacitor precharging, reducing the secondary current peak upon the engagement of the main poles. By incorporating these resistors, the contactors effectively dampen the highest current peaks during switching, regardless of their intensity.
Built with a block-type design, these contactors include three main poles and an AC-operated control circuit with a laminated magnet core. Additionally, a wide range of accessories is available to enhance their functionality and adaptability for various industrial applications.
