UA63 3-pole contactors are designed for capacitor switching and are suitable for controlling capacitor banks with inrush current peaks up to 100 times the nominal RMS current. The permissible power ratings depend on the operational voltage and ambient temperature near the contactor, as detailed in the table below. It also specifies the maximum peak current (Î) values the contactor can handle. Before re-energizing, capacitors must be discharged to a maximum residual voltage of ≤ 50 V at the terminals. Under these conditions, the contactor ensures an electrical durability of 100,000 operating cycles. The UA series 3-pole contactors feature a block-type design with three main poles, an AC-operated control circuit with a laminated magnet system, and compatibility with a wide range of accessories for enhanced functionality.
