The UA16 3-pole contactors are specially designed for switching capacitor banks with inrush current peaks up to 100 times the nominal RMS current. They are suitable for applications where reliable performance and long electrical life are essential. The contactors support a maximum permissible peak current (Î) as specified in the operational table, which also details allowable power ratings based on voltage and ambient temperature near the device. For safe operation, capacitors must be discharged with a residual voltage of ≤ 50 V before the contactor is closed. When used under these conditions, the UA16 offers an electrical durability of up to 100,000 operating cycles. These block-type contactors feature three main poles and one built-in auxiliary contact, are AC operated with a laminated magnet circuit, and are compatible with a wide range of accessories for added flexibility.
